💙 A Colourful Early-Summer Escape at Expo '70 Commemorative Park 🌿☔

As Osaka enters the rainy season, one of the city's most beautiful seasonal sights begins to bloom 💙✨

From 6 June to 28 June 2026, visitors can enjoy the Hydrangea Festival at Expo '70 Commemorative Park, where the recently renewed Hydrangea Forest comes alive with colour 🌿🌸

Featuring around 50 varieties of hydrangeas, including both traditional Japanese lacecap hydrangeas and Western hydrangeas, the forest offers a stunning display of blues, purples, pinks, and whites. Some varieties even change colour as they bloom, earning hydrangeas the nickname "the seven-changing flower" 💙💜🩷

The Hydrangea Forest was refreshed last year with newly planted varieties, giving visitors the chance to see a new generation of hydrangeas growing and flourishing. Combined with special seasonal displays and colourful decorations inspired by the rainy season, it creates a magical atmosphere that can only be experienced at this time of year ☔✨

Whether you're looking for beautiful photography spots 📸, a peaceful walk in nature 🚶‍♀️🌿, or simply a chance to experience a uniquely Japanese early-summer tradition, this is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.

⏰ 9:30am – 5:00pm (last admission 4:30pm)

Osaka From 200 Metres Above the Ground ✨

Few places in Osaka offer a view quite like this.

Located on the highest floors of the Nakanoshima Festival Tower West, Conrad Osaka is one of the city's most impressive luxury hotels. Rising around 200 metres above the streets below, the hotel offers panoramic views across Osaka's skyline, rivers, bridges, and endless city lights.

One of the most striking spaces is the hotel's spectacular lobby and lounge area, where enormous floor-to-ceiling windows create the feeling of floating above the city. Whether you visit during the day or after sunset, the changing scenery is part of the experience. As darkness falls, thousands of lights begin to sparkle across Osaka, transforming the view into something truly memorable.

The hotel is located in Nakanoshima, one of Osaka's most elegant districts. Surrounded by rivers, cultural attractions, stylish restaurants, and beautiful waterfront walks, it offers a different side of Osaka from the energy of Dotonbori and Namba.

Even if you're not staying overnight, many visitors enjoy stopping by for afternoon tea, a drink, or simply to admire one of the finest urban views in Japan. Looking out across the city from above, it's easy to understand why Conrad Osaka has become one of the most photographed hotels in Osaka. ✨

But the experience doesn’t stop there 👀

After visiting the museum, the tour also introduces guests to unique local gourmet dishes inspired by Chicken Ramen, allowing visitors to discover another side of Osaka’s food culture. From creative sweets to unexpected ramen-based menus, it’s a fun way to explore the local area through food. 🍦🍜

One of Osaka’s Most Beautiful Night Views — The Elegant Riverside Lights of Nakanoshima ✨🌃

Looking for a more sophisticated side of Osaka at night? 🌙✨

While places like Dotonbori are famous for their bright neon energy and bustling crowds, the Nakanoshima and Dojimahama area offers something completely different — a calmer, more elegant atmosphere where the lights of the city reflect beautifully across the rivers below.

One especially stunning spot to take it all in is the free observation area at “WowUs”, located on the 16th floor of Dojimahama Tower. From here, you can enjoy an incredible urban night view, with glowing highways weaving between skyscrapers and reflections dancing across the water beneath. 🌃

The area around Nakanoshima is also perfect for an evening stroll. Riverside walkways, stylish restaurants, cocktail bars, cafés, and hotels give the district a refined atmosphere that feels both modern and relaxing. It’s a wonderful place for couples, friends, or anyone wanting to slow down and enjoy Osaka at night from a different perspective. 🍸✨

As the weather grows warmer and the evenings become more comfortable, this part of the city becomes even more inviting.

Osaka’s Most Mysterious Landmark? Discover the PL Peace Tower 🕊️

Many first-time visitors are surprised when they spot the mysterious-looking “PL Peace Tower” rising above the Osaka skyline. Some say it looks like a spaceship, while others compare it to modern art from another world — and honestly, that’s part of what makes it so memorable. 👀✨

Standing at an impressive 180 metres tall, the “Dai-Heiwa Kinento (PL Peace Tower)” is one of the most unique monuments in Osaka. Built by the Church of Perfect Liberty (PL), the tower symbolises prayers for world peace and remembrance for people around the globe who lost their lives to war. 🕊️

Its unusual shape and overwhelming presence make it feel completely different from Osaka’s castles, neon streets, or modern skyscrapers. Visiting the area has a strangely calm and almost spiritual atmosphere, giving the monument an aura unlike anywhere else in the city.

One of the most interesting things about the tower is how unexpected it feels. Hidden away in Tondabayashi in southern Osaka, it’s the kind of place that makes people stop and say: “Wait… what IS that?” 📸

If you enjoy discovering unusual architecture, hidden gems, or lesser-known sides of Osaka, this is definitely a place worth seeing.
