💙 A Colourful Early-Summer Escape at Expo '70 Commemorative Park 🌿☔
As Osaka enters the rainy season, one of the city's most beautiful seasonal sights begins to bloom 💙✨
From 6 June to 28 June 2026, visitors can enjoy the Hydrangea Festival at Expo '70 Commemorative Park, where the recently renewed Hydrangea Forest comes alive with colour 🌿🌸
Featuring around 50 varieties of hydrangeas, including both traditional Japanese lacecap hydrangeas and Western hydrangeas, the forest offers a stunning display of blues, purples, pinks, and whites. Some varieties even change colour as they bloom, earning hydrangeas the nickname "the seven-changing flower" 💙💜🩷
The Hydrangea Forest was refreshed last year with newly planted varieties, giving visitors the chance to see a new generation of hydrangeas growing and flourishing. Combined with special seasonal displays and colourful decorations inspired by the rainy season, it creates a magical atmosphere that can only be experienced at this time of year ☔✨
Whether you're looking for beautiful photography spots 📸, a peaceful walk in nature 🚶♀️🌿, or simply a chance to experience a uniquely Japanese early-summer tradition, this is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
