🤖🚇 What if your next station guide was a humanoid?
A new field trial in Osaka is exploring how humanoids can work alongside station staff and assist passengers in everyday transit operations.
Launched by AVITA, Osaka Metro and KDDI, the humanoid is helping passengers with subway transfers, station navigation and information about nearby attractions. It can also provide multilingual assistance and communicate through natural dialogue, facial expressions, eye contact and gestures.
The trial is taking place at Umeda and Tanimachi-kyuchome stations, bringing human-robot interaction into a real public environment used by commuters and tourists every day.
