A letter to an electrician

A transformer in the city has more value than that in the village.

If this one has a problem, it’s attended to very fast. It has a lot of value to the utility company.
Through it, the company collects a lot of revenue because of the multiple customers that use it.

A three phase transformer serves both the single and three phase customers.
A transformer in the village can break down and it will take days, months and even years before it is attended to. Why? It serves fewer customers. It generates less revenue to the utility company.

The reason for this post is not about power distribution but value.
What is your value in the market place?

Who do you serve? How many people benefit from what you give? If something happens to you now, how fast will people respond to ensure that you are back to your norm regardless?
