How Equity Bank dividends actually work β and how much you'd earn.
If you own Equity Bank (EQTY) shares on the NSE, you're entitled to a dividend payment every year. Here's what that means in practice:
Equity Bank's most recent final dividend was KES 4.00 per share. Here's what that looks like for different holding sizes:
100 shares β KES 400
500 shares β KES 2,000
1,000 shares β KES 4,000
5,000 shares β KES 20,000
That money goes directly to your registered bank account. You don't have to do anything β it arrives automatically.
The one thing you must get right: you need to own the shares BEFORE the book close date. If you buy after that date, you don't qualify for that year's dividend, even if you hold the shares when the money is paid out.
Our full guide covers: this year's dividend amount, the exact book close date, payment date, and whether it's worth buying EQTY shares before the next payout.

Have you received an NSE dividend before? Drop a comment β I'm curious how many people in this group are already dividend investors.
