In the heart of the Motherland, where the sun kisses the earth,
A tale unfolds, of struggle, resilience, and rebirth.
From the chains of slavery to the yoke of colonization,
Africans rise, fueled by a collective determination.
Once shackled and bound, their spirits refused to break,
Through centuries of oppression, they found strength to remake.
From the whispers of ancestral winds, a rallying cry,
African souls united, reaching for the sky.
In the dark days of slavery, on plantations they toiled,
Yet, within their hearts, a fierce spirit coiled.
Harriet Tubman, a conductor of the Underground,
Guided freedom seekers to liberty, their stories unbound.
In the halls of colonial rule, where empires sought control,
Patrice Lumumba's voice echoed, a warrior of the soul.
Independence declared, though challenges immense,
He stood tall, a beacon of African renaissance.
As the sun set on colonial empires, a new dawn emerged,
Yet, neocolonial shadows lingered, boundaries surged.
Kwame Nkrumah envisioned a united continent,
A dream deferred, but not forgotten, in the hearts intent.
Brain drain cast a shadow, a diaspora's flight,
But in foreign lands, African brilliance took flight.
Chinua Achebe's pen spoke truth to power,
As Wole Soyinka's words bloomed, a literary flower.
In the face of racism, a storm to weather,
Nelson Mandela emerged, bound by a common tether.
Robben Island's prisoner, now a beacon of grace,
His spirit transcending, a symbol for the human race.
Malcolm X, with fiery words, challenged the status quo,
A champion for justice, his legacy continues to grow.
Maya Angelou's verses, a caged bird set free,
Soared above oppression, inspiring you and me.
In the dance of African resilience, a rhythm strong,
Miriam Makeba's voice echoed, a freedom song.
From Mirabeau to Mandela, the struggle intertwined,
African heroes and heroines, their legacy enshrined.
So rise, O Africa, from the ashes of the past,
Embrace the future, for it is vast.
In unity and strength, let your spirit soar,
For the African rise is forevermore.
