The main objective of starting Label Gurus Design, Was to enable the client order design Label Design online. A gift is more than an item placed inside a box. It carries a message, marks an occasion and, in many cases, becomes part of a memory. That thinking influenced our approach to gift shop logo design services in Nairobi, Kenya when developing the identity for Imperial Insights Collective. We wanted the logo to communicate the idea of giving while still giving the business its own character. Our latest packaging project — Globetrotter Lion’s Roast Coffee.

For this concept, we wanted the packaging to carry more than just the name of the coffee. The goal was to create a bold, premium identity with a strong Kenyan character — something capable of commanding attention on the shelf while still communicating the richness of the product inside.

From the African-inspired patterns and warm earthy tones to the strong lion identity, every element was carefully brought together to create packaging that feels distinctive, memorable and premium.

Because when customers are surrounded by choices, sometimes the packaging gets to speak before the product does.

💧 How We Designed the Neneken Water Label

Neneken approached Label Gurus Designs looking for a water label that was simple, clean, professional, and easy for customers to recognize.

We started by developing the Neneken logo, using a handwritten font to give the brand a unique identity. The mountain illustration represents nature and a fresh water source, while the small water wave completes the refreshing look. 🏔️💧

For the colours, we combined dark blue, cyan, and white. The darker blue gives the brand strong visibility, while cyan brings a fresh water feel. White space around the logo helps the Neneken name stand out clearly on the bottle.

For the actual water label design, we added subtle water droplets and bubbles to create depth without making the label too busy. The logo was positioned inside a large white circular area, making it the first thing customers notice.

The final result is a simple, refreshing and professional water label that gives Neneken a strong presence on the shelf. 💦

For this water label design, we created a clean and refreshing look using blue water waves, splashes, droplets and natural green elements to communicate purity and freshness.

The brand logo takes centre stage, while the flowing blue waves create movement and make the packaging more eye-catching. For the larger 5-litre bottle, important details such as the barcode, product information and recycling symbols are neatly positioned on the sides without competing with the main branding.

One of the most rewarding parts of packaging design is seeing an idea move from a concept on the screen to a successfully printed final product. There’s always something satisfying about seeing your design come to life exactly as you envisioned it.

In this video, I take you through different stages of the project, including the initial design, product variants, sizing, dielines/die-cuts, and Pantone colour specifications used to guide the printer during production.

And of course, at the end of the video, I show you how the final printed packaging turned out! 🙌
