The Test of Our Actions
Thanksgiving Thursday 1st February, 2024;
"Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established" Proverbs 16:3 NKJV
As we commence a new month today, may we remember to invite God to walk with us. The word for today tells us to commit our work to the Lord and He shall establish our plans. Isn't it amazing how God wants to be involved in our lives and everything we do? The fact that the God of the universe has time to get involved in our work and gives us audience is amazing.
We should be eager to take up this invitation and continually submit our plans and works before God, what we get in exchange is established plans. He causes us to stand and prosper. What we then do in return is thank Him for His goodness and all He has done for us and it becomes a cycle. One where we submit to God, He then establishes us then we give Him thanks and praise.
Let us feel thankful that we have the privilege of committing our works to God. We are to remember that we are not pieces of inanimate mechanism, but intelligent beings, able to choose the right and refuse the wrong, with a clear conscience and a pure purpose. We are to aim at consistency in all our works.
We are to commit our way to the Lord, testing it by His searching laws. “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5). We cannot commit our way to God if we are working out deeds of injustice. “If I regard iniquity in my heart,” the psalmist declares, “the Lord will not hear me” (Psalm 66:18).
When we commit our way to the Lord we are to search the heart through and through, casting out all evil, that Christ may fill it with His righteousness.
We are to seek the Lord in prayer, putting at the beginning of our petitions repentance for sin.
In all our business transactions, in every word and deed, we are to maintain a pure purpose and a clear conscience. We are to commit our works to God and then leave them in His hands. Our work is to be done in the strictest integrity. Nothing is to be cherished that we cannot carry into the heavenly courts. As we labor let us ask God's help, realizing that this is the only thing that can keep our work free from selfishness....
Look upward with intense sincerity this day and for the rest of the month, for you need constant draughts of the refreshing air of heaven. We need to live in constant communion with our heavenly Father. Perform your duties of love as if in the sight of a holy God.
Prayer : Dear Heavenly Father, We thank you for the free gift of life that you have accorded unto us this far. Indeed your grace has been sufficient in our lives and for that we say thank you. As we have entered in the new month of February, we commit our lives in to your Hands for guidance and protection; Meet us at our various points of need and may thy will prevail in our lives as we commit all our works in thee - In Jesus name we plead - Amen.
Have a fruitful month ahead!
