AWENDO SPEAKS: Walter Owino has stamped his authority on the Awendo parliamentary race, commanding an overwhelming 85.7% voter preference. The massive lead places him in a league of his own, with no challenger currently coming close to threatening his position.

The numbers paint a picture of a constituency strongly rallying behind its current MP. While his closest challenger, Dr. Iscah Oluoch, stands at just 1.8%, the rest of the field remains below 2%, underlining the extraordinary gap Walter Owino has opened over his rivals.

With only 6.5% of voters still undecided, Walter Owino enters the race from a position of exceptional strength. If this level of support holds, the emerging question in Awendo may no longer be who leads the parliamentary contest, but whether anyone can build enough momentum to seriously challenge Walter Owino.

LAMU SENATORIAL RACE BEGINS TO TAKE SHAPE

The latest Lamu County senatorial opinion poll shows Yusuf Aboubakar at 32.8%, followed by current Lamu Woman Rep Muthoni Marubu, at 18.6%. Francis Mugo records 12.7%, while Hassan Albeity stands at 7.6%, with the remaining candidates registering single-digit support.

The findings also show that 21.9% of Lamu voters remain undecided, leaving a sizeable portion of the electorate yet to settle on a preferred candidate. While Aboubakar currently holds the highest preference rating, the substantial undecided bloc means the race remains fluid, with considerable room for shifts in voter support as the 2027 Lamu senatorial contest develops.
