As resistant infections continue to threaten healthcare progress, strengthening antimicrobial stewardship remains critical to ensuring life-saving medicines remain effective.

Nearly 97% of a child’s healthcare needs are met through outpatient care, a reflection of a broader shift in healthcare driven by four forces: partnerships, outpatient care, access, and integrated care that brings services closer to communities.

It was a privilege to support and be part of the launch of Gertrude's Children's Hospital Utawala Medical Centre, a tangible example of this shift in action. The new outpatient facility reflects the hospital’s commitment to bringing primary healthcare closer to where families live, making quality healthcare more accessible within the communities it serves.
