Leadership is about knowing where the business needs to go, and having the courage to take it there.

Justine Kosgei, Group CEO of AAR Insurance, is part of a new generation of African business leaders bringing fresh thinking, commercial discipline and a strong sense of purpose to established institutions.

His leadership at AAR reflects a clear focus on innovation, customer value, operational excellence and building a business that is ready for what comes next. With experience spanning actuarial, strategy, operations and regional leadership, he brings both technical depth and a commercial lens to the job.

But what stands out to us at The IMC People Ltd is his belief that growth should not be reserved for established businesses.
Since 2023, Justine and his team have immensely supported The IMC People and the Business & Economic Summit (BES), sharing in our belief that small businesses need access to the right tools, knowledge, networks and opportunities to build resilient, sustainable enterprises.

That perspective matters because building stronger African businesses requires leaders who are not only focused on their own organisations, but are willing to contribute to the wider ecosystem that makes growth possible.

At AAR, Justine is leading forward. In the wider business community, he is helping create room for others to move forward too, and that is the kind of leadership we are proud to recognise.

“Happy New Month.
Happy New Week.

Every month brings new opportunities. Every Monday asks the same question: Will you show up fully?

The brands that stand out, the leaders who inspire, and the businesses that grow all have one thing in common; they show up with intention, not excuses.

This month, don’t just be busy, be impactful.
Don’t just chase results, create value.

Show up, do the work, and the results will follow.

As we step into a new month, we’re looking forward to helping more brands tell better stories, build stronger connections, and create lasting impact.

What bold move is your brand making this month?
We’d love to hear about it, and if we can help bring it to life, let’s connect.”

Meet Dr. Judith Getugi-Kerini.
Pharmacist. Author. Mentor. Wife. Mother.

A woman inspiring and elevating other women and young girls to chase their dreams, and actually catch them.
Her journey began on the hospital floor, dispensing medicine in the public health system: Long shifts, quiet work and no shortcuts.
From there, she rose to Chief Pharmacist, then CEO, Kisumu Specialist Hospital and currently, Managing Partner at Integra Ventures East Africa.

How? She’s written all about it in Move Like a Queen, her own blueprint for building a career and a life on purpose.

A true example of what happens when a woman refuses to shrink: She pushed, never gave up, and now she’s pulling other women up with her.

Dr. Getugi, this is for you.

The best creative work rarely starts with creativity. It starts with curiosity. That's why at The IMC People Ltd, our creative process begins with questions, not concepts:

💡 What challenge is the client really trying to solve?
💡 Who are we speaking to?
💡 What do they care about?
💡 What do we want them to think, feel, and do?
💡 What does success look like?

Only once we have real answers to those questions do we start creating.

Every campaign then moves through a deliberate process:

🔹 Listen: Understand the client's vision, business, and audience.
🔹 Research: Uncover insights, trends, and opportunities.
🔹 Strategise: Define the message before choosing the medium.
🔹 Create: Develop ideas that are both bold and purposeful.
🔹 Refine: Challenge every concept until it delivers impact.
🔹 Execute: Bring the strategy to life across the right platforms.

For us, creativity is about making ideas work. When strategy and creativity meet, communication becomes more than content. It becomes influence.

That's the creative process we believe in.

One of the truest measure of leadership is how many doors you’ve opened for people still on their way up: That’s Joseph Murabula, CEO of the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC).

Under his leadership, Kenya Climate Innovation Center has helped create over 57,000 jobs, supported more than 3,500 SMEs, and mobilised over USD 63 million for climate enterprise across Kenya. These numbers happen because someone chooses, again and again, to bet on entrepreneurs.

At the Business Ecosystems Summit, we’ve seen that choice in action. Since BES began, Joseph and the KCIC team haven’t just sponsored the summit but they’ve also shown up for MSMEs by backing them to showcase their products and services meet investors, form real partnerships, and reach markets that changed their businesses.

It’s easy to talk about supporting entrepreneurs. Joseph has spent years actually doing it, quietly, consistently, without needing the spotlight.
Not just funding businesses but believing in people before the rest of the world sees what they’re capable of.

From The IMC team, we want to thank Joseph, not just for standing with BES from day one, but for everything your leadership has made possible for Kenya’s entrepreneurs.

Here’s to many more years of building.

| Great events don’t just bring leaders together but also create opportunities that shape Africa’s future.

One of our proudest milestones at The IMC People was successfully delivering the 4th African Sub-Sovereign Governments Network (AfSNET) Conference in Kisumu, an event jointly convened by African Export-Import Bank - Afreximbank and United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG Africa), in collaboration with the County Government of Kisumu Kisumu County 042

The conference brought together H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya; H.E. Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o, Governor of Kisumu County, the host; Prof. Benedict Oramah, Former President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank; and Jean Pierre Elong Mbassi, Former Secretary General of UCLG Africa, alongside governors, mayors, county leaders, investors and development partners from across Africa.

For us, this was more than organising a high-level continental conference.
It was about creating an environment where dialogue translated into action.

One of the conference’s defining outcomes was the Med Aditus International MedAditus pharmaceutical investment in Kisumu, a USD 40M reminder that when the right leaders, institutions and investors are brought together, conferences become catalysts for real economic transformation.

As AfSNET 2026 convenes in Calabar, Nigeria, we look forward to another chapter of collaboration that will connect Africa’s sub-sovereign governments with investment opportunities and advance the promise of the AfCFTA.

At The IMC People, we believe the true measure of a successful event isn’t the applause at the closing ceremony, it’s the partnerships, investments and lasting impact it leaves behind.

Most brands don't have a content problem. They have a listening problem.

They post consistently. The graphics are clean. The captions are fine. And still, nothing. So they conclude the algorithm hates them, or that they need to post more.

But scroll through their page and you'll notice something: every single post is the brand talking about itself. Its products, its offers, its milestones. Not one post answers a question their customers are actually asking. Not one post sounds like it was written after a real conversation with a real customer.

Audiences can tell when content was made for them versus made at them.

The brands winning attention right now aren't louder. They're just paying closer attention to the people they want to reach.
