As we mark the 63rd Madaraka Day, we honour our founding fathers and freedom fighters whose sacrifice secured Kenyaโ€™s self-rule and laid the foundation of our nation.

Today, we celebrate the progress Kenya has made in education, infrastructure, technology, and economic growth. While challenges such as the high cost of living and unemployment persist, our resilience as a people gives us every reason to remain hopeful.

Let this day remind us that our greatest strength lies in unity, hard work, and patriotism. Together, we can build a more prosperous and inclusive Kenya for future generations.

I inspected the ongoing upgrading works to bitumen standards on the Ngereritโ€“Chebilatโ€“Kapkatet road and was impressed by the progress made so far by the contractor, SINOPEC. I emphasized the need to maintain high-quality standards and adhere strictly to the projectโ€™s technical specifications.

Earlier, I brought together onsite the contractor and Kenya Power officials to facilitate the timely relocation and reconnection of power lines affected by the construction works. The contractor committed to settling the required payments promptly to enable smooth rerouting of the lines. I am pleased that, following my visit to the Mogogosiek KPLC substation office, technicians moved swiftly to restore the disconnected lines.

I have also urged the Bomet Water and Sanitation Company to ensure that water pipelines serving villages between Ngererit and Chebilat are restored within the shortest time possible.

On my way to the foundation stone laying ceremony at Chorwet AIC Church, I made a brief stop at Chorwet Primary School, where I interacted with the teachers and received a progress briefing from community opinion leaders.

I am proud to have supported the school during its formative stages, helping it grow into a fully-fledged institution now hosting Pre-Primary, Primary, and Junior Secondary sections. I was impressed by the dedication of the teachers and school management, whose hard work has enabled the school to post excellent results.
