“What if the marketing strategy doesn’t work?”

I get asked this a lot.
And my honest answer is always the same:
Then we learn from it and we tweak it.

In my consultancy work, I’ve learned that marketing is not a one-time magic bullet. It’s more like cooking. (As a food lover, this is the best example that immediately comes to mind) You taste, if bland add salt or seasoning or spices, sometimes you may have to turn down the heat or even change the recipe altogether.

I’ve participated in campaigns that looked perfect on paper but then fell flat.
I’ve also seen “simple” ideas outperform big, expensive plans.

When a strategy doesn’t work, it usually means:
1.The audience heard us… just not clearly
2.The message was right, but the timing was off
Or
3.We chose the wrong channel or even audience for the story we were telling
And that’s okay.

Good marketing is not about being right the first time.
It’s about listening, refining, and being consistent - This should be the guiding light.

The real mistake isn’t a strategy that fails.
The real mistake is refusing to review, tweak, and try again.
Progress lives in doing, learning, adjusting and doing again. Growth lives in having the courage to try over and over.

And every “this didn’t work” moment is simply FEEDBACK, never a failure.

Ever wondered why brands fail, even when the ideas are good?

Most times, it’s not the thinking. It’s the ex*****on.

In my work, I’ve seen strong ideas lose momentum because too many hands touch them, timelines stretch, and ownership becomes unclear. Everyone means well, but the vision slowly gets diluted along the way.

Feedback is important, yes. But great brand management also means knowing when to step back. Marketing and creative teams need the space to carry and execute the strategy fully. Constant micromanagement doesn’t improve ideas, it weakens them.

This is especially true in FMCG, where speed to market, consistency, and consumer trust are everything. Clear objectives, defined strategies, and empowered teams allow ideas to move smoothly from insight, to production, to media, and finally to the shelves-with impact.

Data guides decisions, creativity grabs attention, and disciplined ex*****on does the heavy lifting.

EX*****ON is where brands are built or broken. It’s the quiet, often unseen work that turns good ideas into real growth.

So when you see great brands, know this: their success isn’t accidental. It’s clarity, trust, and confidence in ex*****on.

Yes. Plenty. Millions even.
Will you get conversions?

Because his audience is mostly Gen Zs and Gen Alphas, yani the youth, watoto, vijana.

Best case scenario?
A few of them go home like:

Marketing is not about noise.
It’s about RELEVANCE.
Right message. Right audience. Right platform.

AI will follow the prompt you feed it, that part is guaranteed. But realistically, it won’t always get it right. Ans this is where your human touch is needed to give your content soul, context, and sense.

So as you use AI boldly, don’t forget to guide it, refine it, and sometimes, even correct it. A better prompt with more human practicality can completely transform the final result.
