I recently received a message through my Facebook business page claiming my page would be removed for "trademark violations" unless I clicked a link to "Request a Review." I immediately identified it as a phishing attempt, but not everyone might spot it as quickly. My client notified me today that she received a similar message and that she clicked on the link provided. It was a big mistake. I decided to make this post to warn others who might fall for the same scam!
Phishing is a type of online scam where attackers trick you into clicking fake links to steal your sensitive information. Recently, scammers have been targeting business pages, sending messages that falsely claim your page will be deleted for "trademark violations."
They provide a suspicious link for a “Request of Review,” hoping you’ll click it and enter your login details.
These scammers are getting clever, using fear tactics to make you click on malicious links and steal your information. Please be careful! Always double-check messages like these. When in doubt, go directly to your account settings or contact Facebook support through official channels.
Stay safe and share this to help others avoid falling for it!
