THE KNOWN BIRD 🐦

"Another day to remind you:
It is not about the early bird 🐦.
It is about the known bird."

This actually made me laugh when I remembered the version many of us grew up hearing:

“The early bird catches the worm.” 🐛

And trust me, it was not just a saying.
It became a lifestyle.

“Unalala sana na wenzako wamesha amka…”

Wake up early.
Work harder.
Push more.

From waking up at 3am in high school, to rushing to work in employment, and later entering business thinking you will finally become your own boss…

Only to realize sleepless nights can follow you there too if you do not strategize early enough.

So when I came across this different version, it raised an important question:

Is business really about being the early bird?
Or is it about how well people know and understand what you do?

Many businesses are active.
Serving clients.
Closing deals.

But that is where it ends.

No repeat clients.
No referrals.

Because being useful is not the same as being known.

And being known is what creates consistency.

So ask yourself:

How well is your business understood?

Can your clients clearly explain what you do?
Can your network confidently refer you?

Or do people still ask you:
“By the way, can you also do this?”

That is usually a sign of one thing.

Lack of clarity.

When you are in the hustle stage, you take on everything just to survive.

But every business has a core.

And until that core is clearly defined and communicated, you remain an option, not a specialist.

The goal is not to do everything.
The goal is to be known for something.

Because in business,
clarity builds trust.
And trust drives growth.
