Beware of Juice Jacking: Protect Your Data While Charging
Public USB charging ports may seem convenient, but they can expose you to a serious cybersecurity threat known as juice jacking. This happens when hackers compromise charging stations to steal data or install malware on your device while it’s plugged in.

How it works:
When you connect your phone to a USB port, it can transfer both power and data. A compromised port can secretly access your files, passwords, or even install malicious software.
How to stay safe:
• Use your own charger and plug into a wall outlet instead of public USB ports
• Carry a power bank for emergencies
• Use a USB data blocker (charge-only adapter)
• Avoid using unknown charging cables
• Keep your device locked while charging
• Enable data transfer restrictions on your phone

Tip If your phone prompts you to “Trust this device” when charging in public don’t allow it.
