Samburu has been quietly downgraded from a hardship area to “moderate”....with no clear explanation and no public participation.

This is not just an administrative change; it directly affects teachers, health workers, and civil servants who serve under difficult conditions. Cutting hardship allowances will demoralize them and weaken service delivery.

Let’s be honest, has Samburu suddenly become easier to live or work in?

The challenges remain: high cost of living, poor infrastructure, and limited access to essential services.

We cannot accept decisions made in silence that disadvantage our people.

We demand:
• Transparency on the criteria used
• Immediate review and reinstatement of hardship status
• Inclusion of local stakeholders in such decisions

Samburu deserves fairness, dignity, and a voice.
