Great news for in Kenya! The Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, and IFC this week signed a cooperation agreement to provide technical support aimed at bolstering the adoption and uptake of the Warehouse Receipt System (WRS) in Kenya. The project is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kenya, and aims to strengthen the legal, regulatory and operational framework of Kenya’s Warehouse Receipt System (WRS) with the aim of boosting warehouse receipt financing and increasing private sector participation and investments in the system.

Nivea manufacturer Beiersdorf East Africa has today announced funding of EUR 250,000 (equivalent to KES 32.1m) to be disbursed over the next twelve months, towards combating the growing hunger crisis in Kenya amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation is part of a regional partnership with the Global Food Banking Network (GFN) and local Kenyan affiliate - Platter of Compassion: Food Banking Kenya (FBK) and is carried out under Beiersdorf‘s “Care Beyond Skin” Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

Platter Of Compassion: Food Banking Kenya (FBK) and Beiersdorf East Africa are partnering to provide food to vulnerable members of the community such as underprivileged women and children in organized groups, school going children and inhabitants of informal settlements. This will reduce the number of street families and enhance nutritional delivery to the needy.

Today we supported our client, Beiersdorf, as they donated Nivea products to COVID-19 frontline personnel at Kenyatta National Hospital. With all the sanitizing medics need to do, the skin on their hands is under a lot of strain and the resulting micro tears on the skin is not good. Nivea petroleum jelly and Nivea creme will help with that.

Our client Beiersdorf presented a donation of 50,000 Nivea Creme and 10,500 Nivea Petroleum Jelly products to Kenyatta National Hospital, Mombasa General Hospital and the National Nurses Association. This is part of their Covid-19 Aid Program. These products will help care for the skin of health workers who are constantly washing and disinfecting their hands as they care for Covid-19 patients.
