Looking Back at a Photo from 2012: There Were Days When Instant Noodles Came with Tears…
Every year, when I look back at this photo, it feels like an emotional time capsule. It reminds me of the difficult days we went through and gives me strength to keep moving forward.
Back then, the company did not even own a proper printer. We rented a small office for about 3–4 million VND per month and struggled just to survive day by day. For many months, there was almost no revenue at all.
To make ends meet, I tried everything. I sold cosmetics, wooden wall art panels—those popular three-piece decorative sets that were trending at the time. Yet the products remained on the shelves, and customers simply never came.
I still remember that Lunar New Year as if it were yesterday. It was a quiet, gloomy holiday filled with sadness and tears.
The young lady in this photo was our only employee at the time. One day, because I could no longer afford to pay her salary, I had to let her go. The owner cried, and the employee cried too. Not because we blamed each other, but because we genuinely cared for one another, while life had become unbearably difficult.
There were days when instant noodles were all we had to eat, and the tears would just keep falling…
As time passed, with God’s blessings, perseverance, and the support of many kind people along the way, the company gradually overcame its darkest days.
Today, our happiness is no longer measured by grand achievements. Sometimes, it is simply having orders to fulfill, having colleagues who work hard together, share the journey together, and help build a better future together.
Every era brings its own challenges. But I truly believe that the hardest chapter is now behind us.
Looking back helps us appreciate the past and treasure what we have today.
