E7-4R Visa โ Fact Check & Reality
1. Companies available under the E7-4R visa are generally not as good as many people expect.
2. From an employerโs perspective, sponsoring a new worker with an E7-4R visa can feel unfair or uncomfortable to existing E-9 workers who have already been working there for years.
3. In fields like CNC, MCT, and Injection Molding (์ฌ์ถ), experienced workers may occasionally find good companies, but such companies hire only a very small number of employees.
4. If you are aiming for a comparatively better company, it is wiser to obtain an F-2 residential visa (such as F2-R, F2-99, or F2-7), which has fewer industry restrictions and allows easier workplace changes.
5. In conclusion, companies that quickly offer E7-4R visas are usually located in depopulating regions and struggle to find workers. To attract foreign labor, they are forced to offer a โbetter-lookingโ visa option.
6. Even though the E7-4R visa has not been in effect for a full year yet, many holders are already trying to switch to D-10 or change their workplace.
7. If you have already obtained an E7-4R visa, it is recommended to endure the job if possible and switch to an F2-R visa after completing three years.
8. E-9 and E7-4 visa holders are strongly encouraged to earn at least a Bachelorโs degree or higher while staying in Korea, if possible.
9. Everyone has a different definition of a โgood company.โ However, companies that offer easy work, short hours, and high pay simply do not exist in reality.
Until you obtain an F-5 permanent residence visa, it is better to work at a company with heavier workload but higher pay, as this makes visa renewal much smoother and less stressful.
