Q8 Online News : Jail for Kuwait for blackmailing and publishing pics on net of young women.

KUWAIT CITY, July 28: The Court of Cassation has amended the verdict of the Court of Appeal and sentenced a Kuwaiti to three years imprisonment and fined him three thousand dinars for operating fictitious accounts on the social media, blackmailing young women by publishing their pictures, defaming them and attempting to extort money from them, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Court of Appeal had earlier sentenced the man to two years imprisonment and fined him KD 3,000. It should be noted that the defendant was earlier acquitted in the state security cases of publishing false news, abusing of state symbols and impersonating the leader of a Gulf state on Twitter.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office had charged the accused with threatening the victims to publish naked photographs of them and attempting to extort money from them through threats by means of information technology. The Court of Cassation found the man guilty of all charges but acquitted him of the charge of laying his hands of the money of the victims.
