This is my younger brother, Kazbek. He is 20 years old.
A month ago, he was diagnosed with a terrifying disease — Burkitt’s lymphoma, one of the most aggressive types of blood cancer.
He has already started treatment and has undergone his first round of chemotherapy.
Right now, he is in the most critical stage:
after chemo, his immune system is nearly wiped out.
Yesterday, his condition was on the verge of life and death.
His platelet count (cells responsible for blood clotting) dropped so low that there was a serious risk of brain hemorrhage.
To save him, doctors had to transfuse B+ blood.
But — that is not his blood type. His is B negative (B-).
This is extremely dangerous.
The body can reject the transfused blood and trigger an immune reaction.
We are urgently looking for B- blood donors who are currently in South Korea.
‼️ Unfortunately, other blood types are NOT suitable.
B- is one of the rarest blood types in the world.
The situation is even more complicated because we need not just regular blood, but platelet donations.
And platelets cannot be taken from everyone.
Women who:
– have been pregnant
– have given birth
– have had a miscarriage
– are currently breastfeeding
— unfortunately, cannot donate platelets.
That leaves only men and women who have never been pregnant.
‼️ So the number of eligible donors is very limited.
We are asking for help from anyone who can.
