Itโs so amazing to see how many of you are on board for this amazing journey!
Last night, I posted 4 questions to understand how familiar are you with digital marketing, and Iโm impressed! So, letโs go through them in detail
---
Traditional and digital marketing are quite different. The digital era brought drastic changes to marketing practices.
---
Experience - Mass vs. Individual
When you are looking at traditional media, such as TV, radio, or billboards, your experience is in a group that receives the same stimuli.
In social media, email, and apps, the medium is shared, but the content is customized. People use the same platforms to consume content, but through technology, we see an infinite variation of content based on who is logged in.
Audience โ Passive vs. Active
Marketers will create engaging ad formats on traditional media that appeal to passive audiences. When watching a TV ad, you cannot directly engage with it.
Digital marketing leads to more active media engagement because of the formats and channels. You can engage with content on social media. You should develop highly engaging content, encouraging consumers to share, comment, like, tweet, and click. Donโtโ forget CTAs.
Message - One-to-One vs. One-to-Many
In traditional marketing, the same message is given to many individuals at the same time. Personalizing your content using traditional marketing media is challenging.
In digital marketing, you can create multiple versions of the same message, and target users whose profiles fit your target audience. You can deliver personalized and relevant content for a specific individual.
Strategy โ Outbound vs. Inbound: Think about that as push vs. pull strategies.
In traditional marketing, the push strategy begins with the brand showing ads to many, hoping that it will resonate with some. It is harder to track, itโs not personalized, and itโs more expensive.
In digital marketing, inbound strategy attracts interested consumers to your content, brand, and offer through cookie tracking, SEO, topics, blogs, and influencers. Inbound marketing helps brands resonate with a specific audience so they come to you
