Veemansa Initiative is about to upload a series of interviews with Sri Lankan academics / experts from different sectors on the miraculous developments in China in the recent past and drawing parallels to Sri Lanka.

The series covers

• Digital economy of China- Chanuka Wattegama, Policy Researcher in Economics and Technology
• Economic drives of China - Rev. Wijithapure Wimalaratana Thero, Professor of Economics, University of Colombo
• Inbound and outbound Foreign Investments in China - Shuwen Yan, Lecturer in International Economics, Chongqing Jiaotong University, China
• Rising China and Sinking Sri Lanka : Two Stories of Poverty Alleviation - Sisira Pinnawala, Director of Studies, Veemansa Initiative; former Professor in Sociology, University of Peradeniya
• What is Circular Economy - Pradeep Perera, Energy Economist, Asian Development Bank
These discussions are conducted by Dr. Sirimal Abeyratne Professor of Economics, University of Colombo.

Veemansa Initiative is pleased to launch this series at the beginning of 2022 which mark the 70 years of signing the China - Sri Lanka Rice Rubber Pact and 65 years of establishing diplomatic relations.
