Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) is set to host the Southern Province Regional Exporters’ Networking Forum on Tuesday, 24th of February 2026, in Matara.

The primary objective of the forum is to identify the challenges faced by regional exporters, empower them, and explore new opportunities for growth.

Exporters and government officials representing the districts of Galle, Matara, Hambantota, and Monaragala are expected to participate in the event. The forum will be presided over by Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Hadunnetti, and will provide a unique platform for exporters to directly present their concerns to the Minister and engage in open dialogue.

Heads of relevant government institutions as well as Export Development Officers attached to district and divisional secretariat offices will also be in attendance, with the aim of providing swift solutions to exporters’ issues.

To ensure more productive discussions, the Southern Province Office of the Export Development Board has already begun collecting specific concerns and proposals from exporters in the region. You may submit any concerns / suggestions over this via email: [email protected] OR call 0412231591

The main stock market index in , the All Share Price Index, rose to 23,919.84 gaining 0.16% points from the previous session on yesterday (18 February 2026). Over the past month, the index has climbed 1.24% and is up 40.10% compared to the same time in 2025, according to trading on a CFD that tracks this benchmark index in the Island.

Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Shanghai, successfully organized Sri Lanka’s national participation at the 8th edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2025 which was held from 5th to 10th November 2025 at the National Exhibition & Convention Center in Shanghai, China.

The Sri Lanka Pavilion attracted significant attention from international buyers and visitors for its authentic Sri Lankan flavours, premium teas, natural food products, and exquisite gems and jewellery. The unique blend of Sri Lankan craftsmanship and taste created a strong impression among visitors, generating numerous business inquiries and new market opportunities.

Considering the reputation of as a country for its manufacturing excellence with extensive operations in South Asia, the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with Sri Lankan missions in the USA organized Sri Lankan Country pavilion at the “Sourcing at Magic Exhibition” in Las Vegas, USA, which was held recently with the participation of eleven (11) Sri Lankan companies

This year nearly 1,000 exhibitors, both local and international, representing , and from over 35 countries took part in the sought after / exhibition to showcase the latest innovations in the supply chain. The participant firms received positive inquiries which will bring more businesses to Sri Lanka in the future. The buyers were mainly looking for small orders which is ideal for the Sri Lankan companies
