"Dhishti" is one of the two superhero characters I've finished so far. Although I have not yet published her origin story, this is simply the beginning of her story... π₯
"Thuhini Sathsarani Gajanayake" is the daughter of "Mohandiram Gajanayake" Vedaduru, a current member of a family of traditional indigenous "Sinhala wedakam" and "Gurukam" growing up in a rural village in Sri Lanka. Their village is so rural that even today a radio can be seen only in the village minority, the aristocratic families and the village temple.
As a result, many children in the village grow up farming, traditional fighting, dancing and other family-based industries as their hobbies. So, meanwhile, the heroine of our story "thuhini" also grows up in this environment. She has been very talented, active and always curious since she was a child.
As well as her family-inherited "Sinhala wedakam" and "Gurukam", she was also fond of Angampora and local dances, and she did not forget to support her father's work as soon as the opportunity arose. Day by day her curiosity about all this was growing without limits. She even became accustomed to reading his father's ancient books secretly. And she also experimented with her own methods.
Gradually, as she got older, her freedom began to wane. The root cause of this problem was the divergent views of the Sri Lankan people. It was the belief of the rural people that this "gurukam" and "yanthra manthra" things were not suitable for women and that they were not strong enough to bear it. For this very reason, her father forbade her to continue learning "gurukam and yantra mantra" things..., but "I was born for this"... it was thuhini's view.
For this reason, she desperately wanted to prove to her father that she was capable as well as strong. For this, she chose the very powerful "yaga" that comes from her father's ancient books called "Riddhi Yaga". "Riddhi Yaga" was a ritual used in the past to select the most powerful "Guru". But many generations ago this "yaga" was stopped because the knowledge of the ancient "Gurus" of the past had died with them and the "gurus" who came after them were not strong enough to face the "Riddhi yaga". But "thuhini" believed she was ready for that.
However, she began the "yaga" without any idea of ββwhat was going on, and awakened the demon "riddhi" who had been imprisoned for generations... This demon, who was very angry, immediately defeated "thuhini" and took her soul away. But something very unusual happened here. According to the ancient books, all the weaknesses faced by "riddhi" are instantly reduced to ashes, but here Riddhi is able to separate the soul of "thuhini" from her body but is unable to destroy her body...
Hours later, "thuhini''s father finds his daughter's body in a paddy field, and realizes that her body is not dead yet, and that this is due to riddhi yaga. Without wasting time, her father, along with the villagers, prepared an offering to the warrior demigod called "Chethiya" to be performed at such a time in the ancient books.
When everything was ready, ''thuhini''s body was placed in a circle drawn on the ground and entrusted by her father to the demigod "Chethiya" to bring her soul back.
After a very difficult few hours, she began to wake up again. With the help of the demigods chethiya, the soul of "thuhini" returned to the body, but there is one difference. Her soul is now under the demigod Chethiya. For that reason she received some of the powers of the demigod chethiya. And "thuhini" became her earth warrior Dhishti...
