A Journey of Peace and Pure Intent 🕊️☸️

It is heartwarming to witness the noble Peace Walk led by Ven. Pannakara Thero. This journey, rooted in spreading loving-kindness (Metta) to all beings, is a profound expression of the core Buddhist teachings. Watching them bring a sacred Bo Sapling, the symbol of enlightenment, and being accompanied by a loyal creature who shared the entire arduous journey, brings immense joy to my heart.

Recently, I have noticed some criticisms regarding this Walk. It is natural that not everyone perceives things with the same clarity or wisdom. However, responding to such criticisms with anger or blame only creates more bad kamma (akusala), harming oneself and others. The true path taught by the Buddha is to look upon those with a lack of faith not with judgment, but with compassion. They act on misunderstanding, and adding our own anger only darkens the world further. Instead, let us radiate loving-kindness towards them, hoping their hearts will also be touched by the tranquil and compassionate light of the Dhamma. May peace prevail in our hearts and our nation!
