March 2021 – August 2021: Conducted sample survey of beneficiaries of UNDP GEF SGP Phase 6 project and produced a Market Analysis Report with regard to the market for produce of beneficiaries in the Colombo Wetlands, Knuckles Forest Complex and Jaffna Manner landscapes where the programme operates. Market Analysis Report was submitted to UNDP GEF SGP in September 2021.

May 2022-Sep 2022 – Retained by UNDP GEF SGP programme to conduct an evaluation on the impact of the UNDP GEF SGP Phase 6 project on the Sustainable Development Goals and Gender in Sri Lanka. Fieldwork for this research was conducted in the Colombo Wetlands, Knuckles Forest Complex, the Mannar Jaffna Landscapes. A wide cross-section of stakeholders of the project including Government officials, Civil Society actors and project beneficiaries were interviewed using data collection tools in conducting this study. The final report was completed and submitted at the end of Sep 2022 to UNDP GEF SGP.

Farmer Field School Training for Mannar Jaffna Landscape 19th & 20th March 2022

In response to a request from UNDP GEF SGP Secretariat, we organized a Farmer Field School Training for CBO staff in the Mannar Jaffna Landscape on the 19th and 20th of March 2022. Three resource persons who were former staff of a Food and Agriculture Organization programme were coopted to conduct this Training of Trainers workshop for CBO staff. The training was held on the above mentioned dates at the Mannar Town Divisional Secretariat Auditorium and also included a field visit to a model farm in Uliankulum Mannar on the second day.

Participants of the workshop were guided to plan out their food requirement first day, subsequently on the second day a visit to a model farm was undertaken. Here, participants first got an idea of the layout of the model farm and were encouraged to design their own model farm. They had to suggest the crops they planned to cultivate and propose the location of these crops in their proposed model farm. The objective of the programme was to give the participants knowledge on the Farmer Field School Methodology to be utilized as a planning tool in the design of projects.

Subsequent to a Market Analysis conducted by our firm for UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme, according to popular requests by the respondents, a training on food packaging for beneficiaries on the programme from the Knuckles Landscape was conducted at the Agriculture Department Food Research Unit in Gannoruwa, Kandy. This was a interactive training conducted by Ms. Anoma Seneviratne, Deputy Director Food Research Unit, Gannoruwa. The participants were also given the chance to view the latest packaging machinery on display at the Food Research Unit.

Micro Enterprise Development Workshop 4th Aug 2020
One of our Consultants conducted a workshop for SERVE Sri Lanka a NGO headquartered in Moratuwa Sri Lanka. Thirty female beneficiaries who want to start micro businesses attended the training. The Consultant imparted knowledge on entrepreneurship, marketing, record keeping and financial management to the participants of the workshop.
