On a Poson full moon day over 2,300 years ago, King Devanampiyatissa chased a deer up the mountain of Mihintale. At the summit, a stranger waited , Arahat Mahinda, son of Emperor Ashoka and called the king by name: “Tissa.” He didn’t ask for the king’s bow. He asked for his mind. In that moment, the king lowered his weapon, and an island found a new way to see the world.
