This award-winning agency is the brainchild of W M K Wijayabandara, one of the leading advertising professionals in Sri Lanka. Throughout his career, Wijayabandara has managed to achieve local and international recognition. His creations have been honoured by the famed US creative journal The Creativity Annual in its publications, “Creativity 31” (2002), “Creativity 33” (2004). His work has also been featured in their highly respected comunication journals. Among the aspects recognised by the journal editors were the contextual relevance, practical application, effective message dissemination and the aesthetic prowess of the work under focus. Wijayabandara started his career as a Cinema and Art Journalist and became the pioneering Layout & Photo Editor of the ‘Desathiya’, a news magazine published by the Department of Government Information, Sri Lanka, which is the publicity arm of the state. In addition, he served the Government of Sri Lanka in various capacities where he was gained experience in the subtleties and nuances of print, electronic and social media communications. He has also helped mould young national talent in his capacity as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Sri Lanka. Influenced by his father W M K Karunaratne (1904 – 1979), a renowned commercial artist who was recognised for the creative services he once provided for multinational companies worldwide, Wijayabandara carries with him inherent talents in art and design.
