AUWASA HOLDS ITS FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE ACQUAINTANCE & ENGAGEMENT MEETING
Monrovia, Liberia â April 20, 2026
The President of the Adventist University of West Africa Studentsâ Association (AUWASA), H. E. Christian R. Cooper, today led a high-level team of student leaders in a strategic acquaintance and governance engagement with senior members of the University Administration.
The meeting brought together AUWASAâs Executive leaders, including Hon. Nupor Sumo, Vice President, and Hon. Juman Mawoemah Tokpah, Deputy Secretary General, with the Office of the Vice President for Academics, Prof. Adventor M. Trye, Jr., and the Office of the Vice President for Student Services, Pst. Emmanuel P. Smith.
The AUWASA Team was accompanied by its Sponsor, Mother Margret, whose continued guidance and support remain instrumental to the Associationâs vision and operations.
The engagement was characterized by open dialogue, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration in service to the student body and the University at large. Discussions centered on AUWASAâs acquaintance with governance alignment, student welfare, and the charting of sustainable pathways for impactful service delivery.
During the meeting, the AUWASA leadership presented a comprehensive report outlining activities leading up to and following their induction into office. The report highlighted key milestones, administrative transitions, and the strategic direction of the current leadership, including its commitment to accountability, innovation, and legacy-driven governance.
In response, Prof. Trye and Pst. Smith expressed strong enthusiasm for collaboration, reaffirming the Administrationâs readiness to work closely with AUWASA to enhance student experiences and institutional development. Additionally, Prof. Trye charted the pathways to INNOVATING a new AUWASA in its governance and service endeavors.
Mother Margret also echoed her support, emphasizing the importance of unity, discipline, and purpose in achieving meaningful progress.
Speaking following the engagement, President Cooper underscored the significance of the meeting:
