Our Executive Director , Jefferson Togbah Massah , was among the panelists at the Media Roundtable organized by The Liberian Investigator on February 19, 2026, under the theme โMedia Sustainability in the Face of Digital Disruption and the Decline of Traditional Revenue.โ
During the discussion, Massah emphasized that while the decline in government and corporate advertising remains a significant challenge, the crisis confronting Liberiaโs media sector goes far beyond lost revenue.
Drawing from his experience working with over 100 media outlets and nearly two dozen media civil society organizations, he highlighted persistent structural weaknesses โ including fragile business models, governance deficiencies, and gaps in strategic planning- as key threats to long-term sustainability.
He noted that the era of journalism surviving on passion alone is over. Today, media institutions must balance editorial integrity with sound business management to remain resilient and impactful.
The roundtable provided a rich exchange of ideas and reaffirmed a shared commitment to building a more resilient, independent, and sustainable media landscape in Liberia
