While Europe marks the day with events focused on accelerating gender parity and protecting hard-won rights (rightly so), women in Afghanistan are facing what the UN describes as a "graveyard for human rights"

In the 1970s, women in Afghanistan experienced significant rights expansion, including high education rates, workforce participation, and political representation.

Now under the Taliban, women are largely confined to their homes, with bans on education, most employment and strict dress codes. Restrictions are furthermore placed on women's voices, public presence, and public appearance which they can only undertake in the company of a male guardian.

🩵 Human rights gains are not guaranteed to last!

Women’s rights in Afghanistan demonstrate that decades of progress can be erased in a matter of months if the political and legal frameworks supporting them collapse.

About failure and trusting the wrong people 💚🩷🩶

Winston Churchill believed that consists of going from failure to without loss of enthusiasm.

In the last 20 years, I took many wrong decisions, trusted people who I should have not and lost money when I couldn’t afford it.

I believe that how one responds to is more defining than the failure itself. This said when it happens, it is a traumatic experience that triggers profound emotional challenges, and shatters one’s sense of self-worth.

However, failure is not the end, but only a crucial, temporary, and often necessary step toward eventual success. When it happens though it feels as if you’re wearing the wrong shoes 👠

Coco Chanel has been quoted saying
‘Fashion fades, style remains’.

In my view this is valid for as well.

Over the last 30 years I’ve seen fashion change and, in my humble opinion, not always successfully. Now the fact that we are constantly changing and adapting to new situations, is perfectly fine and necessary, however the foundation, the basis, our style should remain the same.

I personally lead by example. Easy.

I know what I despise; bullying, blaming, foul mouths, bad manners, cowardly Mitläufer.

And I live by what I believe in and what works for me; being in everything and anything I do, being but also vulnerable.

For me it is all about practicing what I preach and action over words in every aspect of life.
