The museum exhibition offers an insight into this unique Luxembourgish tradition, which no longer exists today. Alongside original printing plates, printed sheets and traditional tools, visitors can also discover an impressive collection of playing cards produced by the Dieudonné manufactory.

For centuries, the city of Remich was an important trading centre on the Moselle. Its location along the river strongly shaped the town’s history, from trade to fishing and navigation.

Traces of this past can still be found today. The church tower is believed to have been built on the remains of a Roman watchtower and still features elements recalling its former defensive function.

In 852, a battle between Vikings and Franks took place in Remich. According to legend, Saint Cunibert, a Frankish aristocrat, was born in a castle in Remich. The castle is believed to have stood on the site where the city hall and school are located today.
