Have you noticed that Latvian businessmen are generally more open to meeting each other than businessmen in the other countries?

Every Thursday we try to go to the meetups in Turība Business HUB (which is where our office is allocated as well) and also the other ones. These are useful events to learn new trends from different industries and to meet other entrepreneurs. What we have noticed is that Latvians in general like all kinds of meetups. These people just want to gather together, get promoted, get new clients and partners or just to enlarge their business network. We were wondering why we haven't come across it in the other countries like Belarus, Ukraine, Russia or even Germany and Finland? We consider it as a definite plus for the Latvians.

Multitasking indeed decreases the productivity. It is actually so easy to get lost in doing several tasks at the same time while working with social media. Good advice!

Don’t forget to take culture into account!

The majority of social media theory, data and statistics come from USA or UK. Most of your colleagues would follow those tips blindly. After a while, when they see no positive results they may abandon social media completely.

The thing is that those tips most likely won’t work in our country, our market as people are different, they care about different things and they like a different kind of content.

Observe how people behave around you, what they listen to, what they talk about, how they interact with one another, where they spend most of their time online.

Is it Facebook, or, maybe, Youtube? What if they don’t use Facebook to browse their news feed, and navigate straight into reading articles, or engaging in conversations in their groups?

These things are important when you plan to reach your customers online.

How will new Facebook algorithm affect your business? How will it affect our business? 🤔

A reminder: "On January 11th, Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook would be changing its news feed algorithm to prioritize content from “friends, family, and groups."

For a business page owner, it means a decent decrease in organic reach within a few weeks.

There are still ways to continue appearing in the customers' news feeds:

1. Create engaging content that prompts discussions in the comments

2. Encourage people to click 'see first' button on your page; (similar to what has been happening on Instagram recently)

3. Make more Facebook Live (it gets at least 6 times more reach than anything else)

4. Consider making a Facebook Group where people will discuss your products and services

5. Do more advertising on Facebook! However, the more companies will start doing it, the higher will be the price for CPC, CPM, CPA and so on. So many Latvian companies will soon not be able to use it at all.

After everything said above, how do you think it will affect your business? Do you think you will have to change the marketing activities online, that you are doing now? This is a hot topic for us now and we wonder what do Latvian business owners think about it.
