📢New Tourism Accommodation Regulations 2026

The Malta Tourism Authority has published two new circulars outlining the updated Tourism Accommodation Regulations, 2026, which come into effect this Monday 15th June 2026❗️

The circulars provide important guidance for:
🏨 Collective Accommodation (hotels, guest houses, hostels and other accommodation establishments)
🏠 Private Accommodation (short-let rented accommodation and resident hosts)

Operators and prospective applicants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new licensing requirements, operational standards and application procedures to ensure compliance with the updated regulations.

Please be advised that on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲, the Licensing office at MTA Smart City, Building SCM 01, Level 3, Smart City Malta, Ricasoli, Kalkara will be open from 08.30 am to 11.30 am. Normal operating hours will resume the following day.

The Newly Transformed Buġibba Square is Officially Open! 🌟✨

Yesterday we celebrated the transformation of Buġibba’s core, delivered through a joint collaboration between the Malta Tourism Authority and Infrastructure Malta.

The project delivers a beautiful new look for the square and promenade, alongside a major upgrade to all underground utilities.

This dynamic, open space is officially back in the hands of the community, residents, and tourists to enjoy right by the coast.
