Ever opened your fridge and felt silently judged by your expiring vegetables? 👀 That’s where our Blue Dragon story begins 🐉

In “JAHLI”, guilt literally walks into the kitchen as a mysterious choir appears. They chant and condemn our protaganist into preparing a Blue Dragon stir fry dish in minutes, using half-used vegetables and their delicious stir fry sauces.

As our hero chops, sears, and pours Blue Dragon’s ready-made stir fry sauce, the mood shifts, with the choir's rhythm building with enthusiasm and their judgement turns into guidance and finally, a celebration of "JIEEKOOL" 🍜

What made this Kinsta project fun wasn’t just the surreal “digital nightmare” world you see on screen, it was everything that happened before we even started shooting 📽️

Before a single loading bar or hosting horror moment appeared 🚨 We spent time designing every second. The goal was to make each frustration feel cinematic, but still very familiar to anyone who’s dealt with slow websites or unexpected downtime.

From the prep days, to the shoot, to post-production, the entire campaign was built to live in the same visual world - with the main ad, three tactical ads, and photography assets all working together.

Alongside main brand films, at MAKA we develop additional tactical ads branching from the same campaign, and that's what we did for Kinsta's Don't Lose Sleep campaign, bringing the all-too-familiar web hosting frustrations to life 🙇‍♂️

Each Tactical Ad was engineered to target a specific USP: performance, security, and customer support. With the same surreal universe and the same visual consistency, but strategically segmented messaging for retargeting and lower-funnel impact.

This meant audiences didn’t just get the message once. They are re-engaged with focused value propositions based on the exact pain points marketers care about 😉

Behind all the jokes and familiar faces was… a lot of planning (the good kind) 📆

We mixed practical sets with a bit of blue screen magic to play with Jamie’s character in different sizes, all mapped out on set so post-production could run smoothly. The big goal? Keep everything feeling natural on screen, while giving the creative enough room to have fun.

It wasn’t just about how it looked, but how it felt, playful, familiar, and true to the personality leading the story🎬

When a product is this iconic, it doesn’t need an introduction 😉

For the limited launch of McDonald's BigMac Trio last year, featuring the classic Big Mac, the Grand Big Mac, and the Big Mac Junior, we teamed up once again with McDonald's and TBWA to create a campaign driven by personality... enter Jamie Cardona 😎

Instead of squeezing him into a tight script, we let the creative wrap itself around who he already is. His humour, his timing, his very familiar relationship with the audience.

The result? Something that feels easy, local, and instantly recognisable.
