We had the distinct honor of being addressed by the President of Malta, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, who spoke inspiringly about organ transplantation, the importance of charity work and the sheer dedication required by participants to take on the 2026 challenge.

For nearly 13 years, the LifeCycle Malta Foundation has proudly sponsored a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France, for patients and a dedicated support team of nurses. Training Week 15 DONE: 12 days remaining!
This week, we also caught up with Alex, a first-time challenger taking on the LifeCycle Challenge. Representing one of our platinum sponsors, the Salvo Grima Group, Alex is fully geared up, ready to hit the road and eager to get into the challenge. We all share his readiness and in just 12 days, we leave for Africa to raise funds to help fight kidney disease in Malta!

On Friday evening in Valletta, Vincenzo cycled nearly 90 km in three hours with the intention of connecting with people and talking about the challenges of renal failure and explaining why he is so passionate aout this cause. He highlighted that the LifeCycle Malta Foundation has been the only local NGO raising funds for this cause since 1999.

With their big challenge just days away, Vincenzo and fellow cyclists are ramping up their fundraising efforts and organizing various events, dinners, exhibitions, fitness sessions, BBQ’s and more, to raise funds for us to fulfill the 2026 Wishlist for the renal patients.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came to speak with Vincenzo, reminding us that we can all learn from each other, and a special thank you to all those who donated.

This week, we want to give a massive thank you to Sue’s Art Hub for supporting the LifeCycle Malta Foundation by organizing a fantastic art exhibition together with some of her students to raise funds for renal patients. It was an incredible initiative that brought people together in a fun, creative environment to make a real difference for others.
The exhibition was a total success and 4,300 euros where donated to the LifeCycle Foundation to go towards fulfilling the 2026 wishlist from the Renal Unit.

Training Week 14 Done.
19 days left.

The countdown is entering its final stretch. With departure for our 10-day endurance challenge across Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda on September 4th, the physical and mental reality of the journey ahead is fully setting in. Packing Lists, Nutrition, Routes, Checkpoints, Border Crossings, Tools, First Aid..... everything is being discussed and planned. Training keeps getting more intense.

During the training session, we met up with Judit, a first time challenger who is all about family, fitness and driving forward no matter what! On our 2nd Sunday Group Training Session, Judit took a huge tumble on the road and got injured. Although initially shaken up, she continued the training session and never once complained. Her dedication to the cause is amazing!! Here she shares about her training journey and motivation behind joining the 2026 LifeCycle Challenge.

LifeCycle is incredibly grateful to Salvo Grima Group and especially CEO Karl Aquilina for meeting with us this week.
