Yesterday, two Zambians and a Malawian were convicted in Mchinji for trafficking five adults and five children in two separate incidences.

The convicts picked the victims from Lilongwe but were intercepted on Monday this week around Mchinji Boma and border post respectively as they tried to enter Zambia.

The trafficked were meant to work on to***co fields.

The Zambians, Hezekiah Banda aged 20, Fyson Phiri 35, and Matias Buleya, a Malawian, will be sentenced next month.

Meanwhile, the First Grade Magistrate, Yohane Nkhata, has adjourned until Thursday next week, a case involving another Zambian national who allegedly trafficked three people including two minors.

WhatsApp seems to be facing a glitch as a number of users are reporting issues with sending and receiving texts on the app. Downdetector, a website that tracks online outages across the globe, has shown a sharp spike in the number of users reporting WhatsApp’s outage.

Downdetector is reporting a major spike with over the 6000 reports online. Users are complaining that their messages are not getting delivered. Even when the messages are delivered, the app fails to highlight the delivery status.
