FROM UNKNOWN TO EVERYWHERE: HOW VISIBILITY BUILDS TRUST
A few years ago, I walked past the same shop almost every day.
At first, I barely noticed it.
I didn't know what they sold. I didn't know who owned it. I had never bought anything from them.
But I kept seeing the sign.
Every morning on my way to work. Every evening on my way home.
Weeks turned into months.
One day, I needed exactly what they offered.
Without thinking, I went straight to that shop.
Not because they had convinced me with a sales pitch.
Not because they had the lowest price.
Not because I had researched alternatives.
I went because they were familiar.
And familiarity feels safe.
Many business owners believe trust is built when a customer makes a purchase.
In reality, trust often starts much earlier.
It starts with being seen.
Again.
And again.
And again.
The brands we remember are rarely the brands we saw once.
They're the brands that consistently showed up in our environment until they became part of our mental landscape.
That's why visibility is not vanity.
It's a business asset.
The journey from unknown to trusted is often much simpler than we think:
First, people see you.
Then, they remember you.
Then, they trust you.
And when the time comes to buy, they think of you first.
What is one brand you see so often that it instantly comes to mind when you think about its industry?
