I think that for me, 2024 was a year of pushing and ultimately learning to let go. There’s a lot of opinions about who we should be, what we should do, how we should think, and what our ambitions should be, and at the end of the day, you just find what works for you.
One thing that helped me achieve goals sooner than later was first being comfortable with actually wanting something for the sake of wanting it, and then focusing on what I wanted rather than the infinite amount of things that I didn’t want.
At 35 years old, I’m still shedding subconscious programming and limiting beliefs from parents, colleagues, and past mentors.
Goals aside, I’m remembering that we’re more than our work.
I see a lot of young men building their empire and pushing toward something grand - and that’s great! If this sincerely matters to you, then I hope that you receive your heart’s desire. For me, I’m coming to terms with the fact that many activities outside of business motivate me.
And, not all activities must have a monetary component.
I’ve tried a lot of different mindset techniques, and I’ve concluded that sometimes, there’s nothing to be fixed (just what other people think you should fix).
I’m an ambitious and competitive person, and I get to choose where my energy is applied, not other people.
Honestly, the times that I’ve felt the best while simultaneously having breakthroughs in my career is when I operated from a place of love. So, my intention for 2025 is to do more of that!
