The Auditorio Nacional, one of the most famous entertainment venues in Mexico, has silently released a new identity designed by the Mexican design studio Bala in collaboration with the advertising agency Bombay.

There is still not a lot of information about the project, except for an Instagram post made by the design studio. Bala mentions the logo represents the magical encounter between artists and audience, hence the mirrored shapes—which additionally refer to the iconic architecture of the auditorium.

Even tho I don't have a complete understanding of the strategy of this redesign, I have to say that I really like it. And although it follows the trend of geometric typefaces, for some reason I feel it is the perfect pair for the mark.

It is so simple and current, and keeps the essence of the previous logo. It also has the flexibility to represent the multiple types of events the auditorium hosts, from classic dance, opera, and film festivals, to pop concerts, musicals, and international plays.
