Want better freelance writing jobs in 2026? 😉

❌ Then, STOP applying to everything. ❌

Yeah, I know it feels productive.

You send 20 applications and think, surely one of them has to work.

But the problem is that volume usually makes your pitches weaker.

You rush, you sound vague, and you use the same basic lines as every other writer.

And if you’re using AI to speed it all up, it can get even WORSE because now the client can’t tell if you’re actually a good writer or if you pasted a shiny little robot proposal. 😅

Better jobs usually come from better-fit applications.

Take the time to look at the brief.

Show why you make sense for that exact project.

Point to the right samples.

Make the client feel like you actually understand what they need.

That will do more for you than firing off 30 weak pitches and hoping for the best.

🏷️ Save this before your next pitching session.

Everyone wants to scale content right now.

But hardly anyone wants to scale quality.

And that’s where the wheels come off.

I’m seeing brands go from 4 pieces of content a month to 40 because AI makes it possible.

But possible does not mean smart.

Your buyers are already drowning in content.

They do not need another generic blog that says the same thing as the top 10 search results.

They need answers, examples, and proof.

They need content that actually understands what they are trying to figure out before they buy.

That is much harder to scale.

Because good content still needs a point of view.

It needs experienced writers who can use AI without letting AI flatten the idea.

It needs editing, judgment, and actual business thinking.

So yes, create MORE content.

But make sure it is WORTH publishing. 😉

Because 40 weak blogs will not beat 4 useful ones.

🏷️ Save this before your next content planning session.

Imagine having ChatGPT 10 years ago.

You would have been absolutely UNSTOPPABLE lol.

Back when one blog took hours, every caption needed proper thought, or when content creation was slower, heavier, and much harder to scale.

If you had today’s tools back then, that would have been a massive advantage.

But now?

Everyone has them.

Your competitors have ChatGPT.

Your clients have ChatGPT.

The random intern writing your competitor’s LinkedIn posts has ChatGPT.

So the tool itself is not the edge anymore.

Your thinking is, your taste, and your point of view.

The way you explain something or the proof only your business has.

That’s what makes content stand out now.

Because anyone can ask AI for a blog post.

Not everyone can make that blog sound sharp, useful, human, and worth paying attention to.

So if your brand is hiding behind generic AI content right now, this is your sign to bring more of your actual thinking into the work.

💬 What do you think gives a brand its real edge now?

08/05/2026

A lot of AI content agencies are damaging brand reputations and everyone is being very polite about it lol.

The promise sounds great.

More blogs, posts, emails, and output. Faster turnaround.

Lovely.

But then the strategy falls off a cliff.

Suddenly, a brand that used to have a clear point of view is publishing loads of bland content that sounds like it was made in a factory.

And the worst part?

Customers can tell.

They can tell...

📢 When a blog has been made to fill a keyword gap
📢 When nobody has thought about what they actually need.
📢 When the content is technically “done” but says absolutely nothing worth remembering.

This is the real risk with AI content. (Not that it exists)

But that businesses are using it to make more noise instead of better work.

AI can help with research, formatting, outlines, and first drafts.

But the thinking, strategy, and final judgment still has to be HUMAN!!

🏷️ Save this before you hand your content strategy over to a tool.

If your AI content sounds robotic… the tool might not be the problem 🫠

A lot of people are blaming AI for bad content.

But honestly?

If the output sounds flat, generic, weirdly polished, or full of obvious AI tells…

That usually means there wasn’t a strong writer behind it.

AI is not lowering the standard for content.

It’s raising it.

Because what used to pass as “good enough” now looks lazy.

Average content is easier to spot. Generic blogs feel even more generic. And your customers are getting very good at knowing when nobody with a brain actually touched the copy.

That’s the part businesses need to understand.

Using AI well still takes taste.

It takes strategy, and it takes someone who can look at a first draft and say, “Yep, this sounds like absolute rubbish. Let’s fix it.”

AI can speed up the process.

BUT if you want content that actually builds trust, ranks, sells, and sounds like your business…

you still need excellent writers behind it.

♻️ Share this with someone who thinks AI can replace good writers lol.

CLARITY>COMPLEXITY 🫶

So many times I hear that people want high quality writing. And I love that for them!

But the truth is… your customers can’t read.

That sounds harsh, but it’s the truth!!

They’re not sitting down to read your site like it’s a lost lifestyle masterpiece.

They’re looking for answers, making a decision, and rushing to the next thing on their to do list.

So help them out!!

Write simply, clearly, and get to the point.

That’s the simple trick that it takes many copywriters years and a whole load of failed campaigns to learn.

You’re not the exception. Write it for a 5 year old and you’ll make more sales. Simple!

Ai is coming for your job… so let’s talk about it!

If you look at the news right now, it looks pretty brutal out there (especially for writers and marketers)

Over 50,000 layoffs this year have been linked to AI

Companies everywhere are saying the same thing: automation, efficiency, AI transformation. They’re not talking about hiring or increasing headcount.

So naturally everyone in content, marketing, writing… we’re all sitting there thinking, cool, guess we’re next.

But then the second headline drops.

Gartner is predicting that a lot of these companies will actually rehire by 2027.

Which raises a pretty obvious question.

What exactly are they planning to rehire people for?

And the answer is ALWAYS strategy.

Because right now loads of companies are firing content teams and replacing them with AI tools… and suddenly they’ve got hundreds of AI blogs, AI landing pages, AI newsletters going out every month.

And none of it is doing anything.

Content was never just “write words and publish them.”

You still need someone who knows what to write, why it matters, and how it connects to actual business growth.

AI can produce content all day.

But strategy is still human.

And that’s exactly where companies are going to realise they screwed up.

That’s also exactly where Empowered English comes in.
We use AI to move faster.

But the thinking behind the content is still human.

Businesses don’t need more content…. They need content that actually makes them money.

Most “SEO content” is just rewritten versions of the same article.

Seriously.

Go Google almost any topic RIGHT NOW and open the first five results.

Now tell me you aren’t having a severe case of deja vu.

Half the time, all blogs on the internet are basically the same post with slightly different wording.

They have the same structure, the same basic as points… Even the same wording.

(If I have to see the words ‘seamless integration one more time I’m gonna scream)

Everyone’s just copying the page that’s already ranking and rephrasing it.

And then people wonder why their content doesn’t perform 🫠🫠🫠

Because if Google already has ten versions of the exact same article, it doesn’t need yours as well.

If you want your content to actually work, you have to start by looking at what’s already out there.

Then ask yourself one question:

How can I make this genuinely better?

Maybe you explain something more clearly, have better examples, or a lived experience that you could share.
Maybe you have a controversial take that challenges the advice that everyone else keeps repeating.

Whatever it is, include it. Make it the forefront of your content.

Because if your article is just a slightly rewritten version of the top result…
you haven’t added anything new to the internet.

And the internet *definitely* has enough copies!
