After a long walk along the beach and an afternoon in the sun I was craving seafood, so I ended up at Mariscos Gaby in Versalles.

I ordered the shrimp, octopus, and fish ceviche plus the black aguachile with shrimp. Super fresh, bright citrus, crisp veggies, creamy avocado, and just the right amount of heat. Colorful, generous plates and surprisingly affordable.

Already planning to go back for the coconut shrimp, mummy shrimp, burritos, and the $95 peso margaritas.

Spent the day wandering Sayulita — a town that hums with color and craft. 🌴☀️

Every corner felt alive: hand-beaded jewelry, murals that tell stories, waves catching light, tequila bottles dressed in Huichol art. ✨

There’s something grounding about places that remind you how much beauty is made by hand. 💫

🚌 Just 46 pesos (~$2.50 USD) from Puerto Vallarta, and worth every minute.

We showed up to Casita & Garden in Puerto Vallarta thinking we were getting omakase (reservations only — learn from our mistake 😅)… and ended up with wine and wood-fired pizza instead.

Crisp crust, cozy garden patio, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you slow down and stay awhile. 🌿🍷

Yesterday, the Marigalante — our beloved pirate ship that lit up Banderas Bay with fireworks and laughter every evening — sank after a mechanical failure and rough waves. Thankfully, everyone aboard made it to safety.

For years, she’s been part of the magic here — sailing across the sunset with fireworks marking the start of night. It won’t feel the same without her lights in the bay.
