I get this question a lot: What is the correct order for establishing my online presence?

It's NOT Website → SEO.

It's: Branding → Strategic SEO Research → The Website Build.

Short answer: Yup.
Long answer: Yes! and here’s why:

Even if your state doesn’t require them (yet), privacy policies, cookie notices, and terms of use aren't just digital fluff. If you collect any personal data (emails, names, contact forms) AND your visitors come from different places (even globally), privacy laws likely apply to you. They're essential for legal compliance, building trust with potential clients, and being transparent about how you handle personal info.

Think of them as your website’s way of saying, “I respect your data, and here’s exactly what I’m doing with it.”
Whether you’re serving clients across the globe or just locally, protecting your business (and your users!) is super important and legit policies really are non-negotiable in my opinion . So yup, you really do need them.

It’s a super helpful tool that identifies which privacy laws apply to your business, creates the required legal disclosures, and keeps your policies up to date as laws change (no panic-research needed).
