PENANG, MALAYSIA, 23 OCTOBER 2025 – The Lin Xiang Xiong Art Gallery, a monumental new landmark along The Light Waterfront in Gelugor, Penang, is entering its final stage of preparation ahead of its official opening on 14 December 2025. With construction now complete and installation of artworks underway, the gallery stands on the brink of becoming one of Malaysia’s most important symbols of cultural confidence and global connection.
Architecturally inspired by the turtle, a symbol of longevity, kindness, and prosperity in Chinese culture, and an emblem of Penang Island — the gallery stands as a fusion of nature, art, and philosophy. More than a museum, it will host international symposiums, guest artist showcases, and educational programmes, nurturing understanding between East and West through the shared language of creativity.
“Malaysia has always been a meeting point of cultures, a place where ideas, traditions, and values flow together,” said Professor Lin Xiang Xiong, founder of the gallery. “By anchoring this vision in Penang, I hope to honour that spirit and share with the world how art can transcend
boundaries. This gallery is not only a tribute to Malaysia’s creativity but also a reminder that peace and progress begin with understanding one another.”
As part of Professor Lin’s broader mission to unite art and humanity, the Lin Xiang Xiong Art Gallery represents Malaysia’s emerging role as a cultural bridge in the global arts dialogue.
