Have you ever wondered why the price of computers is getting expensive recently?

If you told me it is because of inflation, you would be right, for half of it at least.

So what is the answer for another half?

Well, it all started with the pandemic outbreak.

You see, during the pandemic outbreak, people can’t really go anywhere. The manufacturer, especially chip’s. has slowed down production. And it causes a shortage in chips on the market. Which leads to slower production of electronic products like smartphones, and of course computer parts like Hard disks and CPUs.

Most people around the world are grounded to their home during the pandemic as well. ‘Work from home’ and ‘Online class’ culture became massively popular during that time as well because, well, there is work and class to be done, and people can’t go anywhere.

Thus because of these reasons, electronic devices, especially computers which are needed to accomplish these tasks have a surge of demand. Making the supply and demand on the electronic market does not reach the equilibrium that they needed. And so the high demand keeps driving the price up.

In marketing planning, this doubles as an alignment tool because if enables managers to brainstorm ideas and communicate shared visions and goals with one another.

So what should be included in the plan?
- Summary of the current situation of the company and the market.
- Marketing objectives for the year.
- Chosen marketing strategy.
- Action plan.
- Methods for evaluation.

Make the plan clear and concise. Keep it under one page so everyone can read it.

5- Steps marketing method is based on offering people some perceived value in return for their resources.

And here is the steps:
1. Research market opportunities.
2. Choose a target market.
3. Decide on a unique positioning.
4. Implement marketing tactics.
5. Evaluate the results.

These steps form a circular process that can be repeated to adapt to new market conditions.

Did you know there are 3 types of marketing?

No, I'm not talking about the types of digital marketing now, I'm talking about the OG, the fundamental of type of marketing.

Marketing type no. 1: Responsive marketing.
Responsive marketing is about identifying and fulfilling the pre-existing needs.
E.g. People loves burger, you market the burger.

Marketing type no. 2: Anticipative marketing.
Anticipating marketing is about recognizing trend in society and building products that fulfill newly emerging needs.
E.g. Christmas will coming on the next 2 months, you market Christmas trees, accessories and decoration for Christmas etc.

Marketing type no. 3: Need-shaping marketing.
Need-shaping marketing is about creating needs that don't exist yet. This marketing method requires large investment in innovation and development.
E.g. Recently you found out some of the cosmetic product contains ingredient that would bring harm than good to the human body. So you find a way to bring awareness, and educate to the public about it and you market the alternative, better products.

I believed a lot of people heard about marketing, especially digital marketing, which include something like social media marketing, SEO marketing, funnel marketing, influencer marketing and so on.

But let's dial down a little bit now, shall we?

So, what actually IS marketing?

Marketing can be said, as an art. An art to identifying, and fulfilling consumer needs.

And there is all kinds or organizations face marketing problems:

- Corporations fight for market share and revenue.
- Universities compete for students.
- Politicians cultivate their public image to get votes.
- Cultural institutions want to attract more visitors.
- So on, and so forth.

All organizations want to attract resources from the public, such as:
- Money (Now I can't unheard Mr. crab saying "Money!" from spongebob squarepants!)
- Interest
- Engagement
- Votes
- ETC.

The challenge is figuring out how to persuade people to hand them over!
