Lucky Coffee Bar — a modern tuck shop reimagined with a lucky twist.

Located in the lobby of KLoé Hotel, Lucky Coffee Bar is inspired by neighbourhood tuck shops and classic milk-bars — familiar, comforting places where you’d drop by for a soda, soft serve, a sandwich, or a coffee. We imagined what that childhood corner shop would feel like today — and brought it to life through a fresh, playful identity.

Our design approach focused on fun, humour, and nostalgia. Bold red & blue hues echo the colours of old-school tuck shops, paired with a friendly, modern typeface. Lucky charms — Maneki cats, clovers, rainbows, fortune cookies, and smiley faces — were illustrated and turned into sticker-style graphics across packaging, cups, coffee packs, Instagram content, and merchandise.

Staying true to the tuck-shop spirit, Lucky is more than just food and drinks. Visitors can also pick up everyday essentials like fancy toothpaste, snacks such as candy and cookies, as well as retro toys and magazines — small discoveries that add to the charm of the space.

We also curated illustrated wall graphics and designed their merch collection — including tote bags and tees — created to bring luck, joy, and warmth to every visit.

By day, Lucky serves all-day breakfast, sandwiches, salads, rice bowls, and desserts. By night, it shifts into a cosy cocktail spot with bar snacks, wine, and playful drinks infused with local twists.

Lucky is more than a café — it’s a feel-good space that evolves with the day, inviting you to stay, relax, and enjoy a little moment of luck.

At Studio Clap, every wayfinding project begins by immersing ourselves in the unique environment and challenges of our client. For Millennia Village, a vibrant senior living community set amidst 32 acres of lush greenery in Seremban, this meant identifying essential navigation questions: What navigation issues do residents and visitors face? How can we seamlessly integrate the visual identity into practical signage? What timeline and budget considerations guide our project scope?

We engaged with Millennia Village’s primary users—active seniors—and collaborated closely with the architect from Graphoz Design to better understand daily routines, community interactions, and specific navigational needs. These insights guided our approach to creating intuitive solutions that support and enrich day-to-day living within the village.

Our core task involved crafting a tailored wayfinding strategy specifically for Millennia Village. We designed a clear and logical sign hierarchy, pinpointed ideal locations within the masterplan, and ensured each sign aligned harmoniously with its natural surroundings and brand identity. Our planning also covered sign types and quantities, lighting solutions, material selection suited to the environment, and collaboration with signage manufacturers and contractors to achieve smooth and timely implementation.

The result? An intuitive and welcoming wayfinding system that enriches residents' and visitors' journeys, reinforcing Millennia Village’s commitment to healthy, active, and meaningful senior living.

Strategy
Millennia Village, a purpose-built senior active living resort set within 32 acres of vibrant greenery in Seremban, Malaysia, initially approached us at Studio Clap to design their signage system. Recognizing the importance of brand consistency, we advised expanding the scope to first create a comprehensive visual identity. Strategically, our recommendations included clear brand positioning and cohesive visual storytelling across all collateral—ranging from print and digital platforms to wayfinding. For branding, we developed the concept of 'Rediscover Senior Living', aligning closely with Millennia Village's vision to inspire seniors to reimagine their lives through meaningful experiences, community connections, healthy living, and a hassle-free, active lifestyle.

Design
We crafted a welcoming visual identity inspired by the organic shapes and style of artist Henri Matisse. The design emphasizes warmth, friendliness, natural beauty, and energy, reflecting an organic, healthy lifestyle. Our playful and idyllic illustrations embody Millennia Village’s three central brand messaging pillars: connection to the land, commitment to permaculture and sustainability, and dedication to healthy living and lifelong learning within a vibrant community. A notable detail includes the resident eagle—often seen soaring above the village—which was illustrated as part of the brand visuals to represent a sense of freedom and connection to nature.

Results
The resulting brand materials effectively captured the essence of Millennia Village, significantly enhancing their identity, visibility, and appeal among seniors seeking active living options. The cohesive signage system improved navigation and overall resident experience. Unified brand visuals across multiple platforms created a strong, positive impression, strengthening Millennia Village’s positioning and engagement within their intended community. These efforts support their mission to help seniors age gracefully and redefine their retirement years.

High Street Studios (HSS), located on Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, formerly High Street, is a vibrant community space in downtown Kuala Lumpur. As the area evolves with new restaurants, cafes, and event spaces, HSS stands out with its unique blend of green and creative spaces. HSS Pocket Park provides a refreshing oasis for those exploring the bustling streets, balancing the area’s commercial growth with vital public spaces.

Originally a backpackers’ hostel called BackHome that closed during the pandemic, HSS was transformed with the intent to create a center that cultivates local creativity and small independent businesses in 2022. HSS hosts a mixture of retail, offices and creative studios, it is now home to the Kuala Lumpur offices of Think City, a community-focused urban rejuvenation organization, along with independent bookstore Riwayat, LOKL Coffee Co, Gahara Batik, and Gambus, a music store featuring traditional instruments. HSS also offers ample bicycle parking, encouraging eco-friendly transportation.

Urbanagenda.design revamped the architecture and to ensure it is public-friendly and contains all the elements needed for a pocket park. The petite but lush space was designed in-house by architect Rungrudee Pitaksorayutt (Nok), providing a green escape amidst the urban landscape.

Our visual identity for HSS is inspired by the historic pre-war shophouses, with the ‘H’ mark derived from their distinctive shopfront structure. This ‘H’ forms the core of the visual identity and wayfinding system, adding character and ease of navigation to the space. As part of the future KL Creative District (KLCD), HSS aims to attract a vibrant creative community, fostering a dynamic cultural and commercial hub in the heart of KL.
