Strong content and backlinks weren’t enough
The company already had good website content and quality backlinks, which are usually key for SEO.

Despite this, their site wasn’t performing as expected in Google search.
Google kept misclassifying this HVAC business

Google’s algorithm was seeing the business as a “general contractor” rather than an HVAC specialist.

This matters because search results depend heavily on how Google understands your business category.

Being in the wrong category meant they were competing for the wrong keywords and appearing to the wrong audience.

A simple schema fix to define their specialty

Schema is structured data that tells search engines exactly what your business does.

By updating their schema to clearly indicate “HVAC services,” Google could accurately categorize them.

This is a technical but low-effort SEO tweak that can have a big impact.

Boosted traffic 2× in three months

Once Google understood the business correctly, they started ranking for relevant HVAC keywords.

This drove the right visitors to the site, doubling overall traffic within a short timeframe.

Key takeaway:
Even with great content and backlinks, if Google doesn’t understand your business niche, your SEO won’t perform. Using schema to clarify your specialty can dramatically improve visibility.
