Rasulullah SAW juga bersabda,

“Apabila diantara kalian berpuasa, maka berbukalah dengan kurma, jika tidak ada kurma, maka berbukalah dengan air, sebab air itu suci”. (Hadis, Imam Abu Daud, Al-Baihaqi dan Al-Hakim).

Seterusnya, Anas bin Malik meriwayatkan bahawa “Rasulullah SAW biasa berbuka puasa sebelum sembahyang maghrib dengan ruthob (kurma basah), jika tidak ada ruthob, maka beliau berbuka dengan tamar (kurma kering), dan jika tidak ada tamar, beliau meminum seteguk air”. (Hadis, Imam Abu Daud, 2356).
