Trust is becoming the new beauty standard. Today’s consumers are increasingly sceptical of brands that fail to back up their promises with transparency and proof. They are more informed, more cautious, and more selective about who they trust.

In fact, 62% distrust brands that overclaim sustainability, reflecting a growing rejection of vague “eco-friendly” promises and greenwashing. Today, sustainability is expected to be measurable, visible, and accountable, not just part of a brand aesthetic.

At the same time, 41% worry that beauty apps are not protecting their personal data, highlighting rising concerns about how information is collected and used. Consumers now expect clear transparency before sharing personal information across beauty platforms.

Overall, trust is no longer built through branding alone, but through clarity, accountability, and transparency at every touchpoint. As expectations rise across beauty, trust is now what defines brand success and drives growth, powered by desire.

Beauty is no longer just a women’s conversation. The Havas Prosumer Report reveals that men’s perceptions and habits are changing when it comes to beauty.

In fact, 50% of men say taking care of their appearance is a vital need, showing that grooming is increasingly seen as part of everyday self-care rather than vanity. For many men, these rituals are not just about appearance but moments of personal care that contribute to confidence and mental wellbeing.

The lines between traditional male and female beauty habits are also becoming less defined. 35% believe that men and women should share similar beauty routines, reflecting a growing openness towards gender-neutral products. This shift shows that today’s beauty is less about gender categories and more about individual needs and lifestyles.

At the same time, attitudes towards male self-expression are evolving. 36% of Malaysians, especially Gen Z, say they admire men who wear makeup, suggesting that beauty is gradually becoming a space where men can explore identity, creativity and confidence.

These insights reveal a broader cultural shift where men are becoming active participants in shaping the future of beauty. As men reshape the conversation around grooming and self-expression, brands that tap into these motivations can unlock growth, powered by desire.
